Digital Marketing

Get found by Google. Get cited by AI.

Search isn't just a results page anymore. It's Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini answering your customer's question directly, sometimes without a single click to any website. We build your visibility for both: ranking in traditional search (SEO) and being the answer AI tools give (AEO and GEO).

Why your traffic is dropping even though nothing changed on your site

In early 2026, roughly 68% of U.S. searches ended without a single click to any website (SparkToro/Similarweb). Google's AI Overviews now show up in about 48% of searches, up 58% year over year (BrightEdge). Your site didn't get worse. Search stopped sending the click. The business that gets chosen inside the AI answer wins the customer; the one that only shows up on page one of a results page nobody scrolls past does not.

Your competitor doesn't have to outrank you anymore. They just have to be the one ChatGPT mentions.

A customer can get a full answer, and a recommendation, without ever seeing your website.

Traditional SEO reporting (rankings, clicks) doesn't show you any of this happening.

SEO vs. AEO vs. GEO: what's actually different

What it optimizes for Where it shows up
SEO (search engine optimization) Ranking on a traditional results page Google, Bing search results
AEO (answer engine optimization) Being the direct answer to a question Featured snippets, People Also Ask, AI Overviews
GEO (generative engine optimization) Being cited or recommended inside an AI-generated answer ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, AI Overviews

You need all three working together, not one instead of the others. SEO earns you the click when someone still wants to browse. AEO and GEO earn you the mention when they don't.

What actually gets a business cited by AI

AI tools don't rank pages the way Google's classic algorithm does. They pull from content that's structured, credible, and current. Sites with strong E-E-A-T signals (experience, expertise, authority, trust) are 2.3x more likely to be cited in AI Overviews, and pages with a named author and clear structure see a 73% lift in being the one selected (Wellows, based on 2,400 tracked citations). Content updated in the last 30 days gets cited about 3.2x more than stale pages.

What we build into every page

Answer-first structure.

The first 40 to 60 words under each heading directly answer the question, before any of the expanding detail.

Named authors, real credentials.

Author bios with a photo, title, and a link to a real LinkedIn profile, not "Admin" or "Team."

Schema markup.

Organization, Service, Article, and FAQPage structured data so AI tools can parse what your business does and who's saying it.

Original data.

Content built on your own numbers, not just a rewrite of what's already ranking.

Off-site presence.

AI tools cite YouTube and Reddit more than they cite backlinks now (Reddit accounts for roughly 40% of citations, LinkedIn about 11%, per Semrush/Peec data). We help you show up where AI is actually looking.

Our AEO/GEO framework

Step 01

Audit.

We check where you already show up (or don't) across Google, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity, and find the gap between what you offer and what AI tools currently say about you.

Step 02

Structure.

We rebuild or add the pages, schema, and off-site presence that make your business easy for AI to understand and quote correctly.

Step 03

Track.

We monitor whether you're actually getting cited, not just whether you rank, and keep content fresh so the citations hold.

AEO & GEO FAQ

Straight answers to the questions we hear most.

What is AEO?

Answer engine optimization. It's structuring your content so it can be the direct answer to a question, in a featured snippet, a "People Also Ask" box, or an AI Overview, not just a ranked link.

What is GEO?

Generative engine optimization. It's making sure your business gets mentioned or recommended by AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini when someone asks a question your business can answer.

Is "AIO" the same thing?

Not exactly, and the term is used two different ways in the industry: some people mean "AI Overviews" (Google's AI-generated results), others mean "AI Optimization" as a catch-all label. Because it's ambiguous, we don't use "AIO" as a service name. We use AEO and GEO, which are specific about what they optimize for.

Does having an llms.txt file help my AI rankings?

No. It's a useful hygiene file that lists your site for AI crawlers, but Google has confirmed it has no effect on Search or AI Overviews rankings. We still add it as good practice, just not as something that moves the needle on its own.

How is this different from regular SEO?

Regular SEO is still part of it. AEO and GEO add the structure, schema, and off-site presence that get you cited inside an AI-generated answer, which classic SEO alone doesn't cover.

How long does it take to see results?

AI tools favor freshly updated, well-structured content, so early signals can show up within weeks. Meaningful, consistent citations typically build over a few months, the same way SEO does.

How do you measure if it's working?

We track whether your business is actually showing up and getting recommended inside AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity answers for the questions your customers ask, not just where you rank in classic search.

Do backlinks still matter?

Yes, but less than they used to for AI citations specifically. YouTube and Reddit presence currently drive more AI citations than backlinks do. We build both, weighted toward what's actually working right now.
